Daily Outfit: Not the Usual

So why do I have my back to you? Why can't you see my face? More importantly, WHAT am I DOING in jeans and sneakers? Remember how I let you know I was going on camp? Sleeping under the stars sure was beautiful but it was the coldest night in five years. True story.

Turns out red jeans stand out against a blue sky and grassy surrounds. I'm not well adapted to the environment.

Daily Outfit: Days Seventeen and Eighteen

Here you all are, waiting patiently for the final installments. What did Sequin Cat wear up in the country while teaching?

Thank you for your patience, friends. It's all going to be revealed.

Wednesday Wrap-up... a little late. And brief!

This is it, friends!

Here we go, here we go. Finishing up at school and moving back to Catdelaide. Awesome!

I'm on stolen time on the housemate's internet. She's excellent.

I've been reading a lot and dreaming a bit.

See you in suburbia!

Happy 500th post, Sequin Cat!

Blogger accountability! I said I'd be back on Friday night and here we are, up late on a Sunday. Make that Monday evening. May I be excused? When I got home from camp I needed desperately to tuck myself into bed. A restorative sleep and a busy Saturday meant no time for blogging. But here I am, about to start another week! Unfortunately I left my camera at a friend's house on Saturday night. Clever effort for a blogger. To make things worse, I'm out of internet credit - scarce in a country town. Thankfully, I've been able to pinch my housemate's.

Enough of that. Celebrations are in order! No champagne like last time, but doing a little better than my 300th post. The 200th and 100th posts felt like big achievements too. Who knew, back when I started my blog in January 2009 that I'd rack up half a thou posts?

What you see is true. My life is amazing!

Thanks for being part of the Sequin Cat journey. If you're new to the blog, feel free to take a look at my anniversary post, where I collected some of my favourite entries.

Wednesday Wrap-Up

Just a quickie as I'm due to get up at 4.45 tomorrow morning to go on camp! We're going to sleep under the stars with some lions. True story.

I'm finishing up my prac, thinking about what lies ahead and reflecting on what I've learnt. I hope my teaching style has developed. My mentors have been great and I'd like to recognise them with some personalised gifts.

Receiving lovely snail mail, delicious dinners, family frivolity, holding a miniature tortoise, snake and two monkeys all in the same day, comforting phone calls, joking with my students, reading, signing off on some things and signing on to others, making plans.

Back Friday night with a very important post...

Daily Outfit: Day Sixteen

On the home stretch of my teaching prac. I'm starting to get sick of the clothes I brought up here too (and you all know I'm not one for repeating outfits.)

Why the bathroom shot? Something to do with leaving for school at 8am and getting home at 6 and it's dark out. Oh, sunshine, how I miss thee.

Slips

As mentioned, I invested in some slippers to protect my toes from the early morning country chill.

Seriously the most worthwhile $7 I've ever spent.

Amazing, no?

Daily Outfit: Reptilian

Sunday wasn't any warmer than Saturday. That didn't stop us from heading off to the local reptile park for some snake charming.

Definitely needed more layers on such a blustery day.

Daily Outfit: What's French for "button"?

Tormented my mother all day.

Gosh it was miserable weather! Rather cold and wet.
