It's my birthday in exactly one month (Virgos of the World unite!) and people have started asking me what I'd like.
I'm not exactly big on consumerism at the moment (23 years of hoarding stuff is taking its toll!) so all I could come up with was some new makeup to replace old stock.
I've never really entered into the world of scent, but after sampling Viktor & Rolf every time I entered Sephora in Paris, I think I may have found something that suits me. A little parfum would be a lovely birthday treat!
The other stuff? Some blush (no idea what brands are decent!), liquid eyeliner perhaps and a new coral lipstick. Although I did find one in a drawer the other day so I'm not too fussed. I'd like to get some new stockings, and knickers too. Unfortunately these are subject to personal taste and I know mine are quite specific.
In conclusion: if you're looking to give me some birthday glee I'm sorry sorry sorry that I'm useless! I'm just not really into things at the moment. I do however, like dinner dates, drinks with friends and trying new things.

Daily Outfit: A cape!
On Tuesday I realised that winter was nearly over and that I had only worn my cape once!
Desperate times called for desperate measures.

This glorious outergarment kept me warm two days in a row. Happiness.

Wednesday Wrap-up
Is everybody ready for another less than average summary of the week that was? The subtitle to this post should be: I'm tired and I want to go to bed.
Here's the list that I scribbled on a lime green post-it while bored at band tonight.
SO.....
So what's the conclusion? More highs than sighs? Other way round? It's the winter blahs, methinks.
Not long to go now.
Here's the list that I scribbled on a lime green post-it while bored at band tonight.
SO.....
- Assignment stress (ARGH! DONOTDEAL!) and then consequent relief
- Episodes of The Amazing Race (too much! But so good.)
- Delicious, divine, darling dinner date at Jasmin on Saturday night
- Bike riding on stormy days - am I getting fitter? I feel my tummy growing (don't worry friends!)
- A superb Sunday lie in - food, naps, the Hobbit
- A David Attenborough doco on reptiles with my mom. Serious laughs
- Finishing books and starting others
- Productive Monday meetings
- Cooking with the manfriend with a glass of wine in hand (does life get any better?!)
- Uni making me sigh (more so than usual. Particularly painful semester, content-wise)
- Productive group work
So what's the conclusion? More highs than sighs? Other way round? It's the winter blahs, methinks.
Not long to go now.

Daily Outfit: Date Night
My boyfriend had Saturday night off work so we did what normal couples do: go out for dinner!

It's hard to choose an outfit shot when my face is so sleepy.

Daily Outfit: Friday Funtimes!
Some days you feel like wearing a (faux) fur coat and a tutu. And that's okay.

Got some funny looks at Uni but fewer at the pub. Great day!

Just a minute in July
It's finally August! Just one month of winter left, baby!

Reading... departure boards, lots of books, University notes.
Listening... to Phoenix still, Band of Horses (hurray!), thunderstorms, the new Jonsi album (so good!), The National (comme toujours) etc....
Watching... the weather report in many cities, an Audrey Hepburn film in bed, my mom clear out the house of worldly possessions, some sneaky episodes of The Amazing Race.
Buying... bus tickets, dinners out (still!), red wine, it.
Wanting... a few things - I'm compiling a mental shopping list as my birthday's coming up, not to be back at Uni (that enthusiasm lasted long, didn't it?!), not to be allergic to animals, a few extra degrees on the thermometer when I hop out of the shower.
Making... plans yet procrastinating on overdue projects, music with my band, cutbacks in many areas of my life.
Loving... red wine on cold nights, time spent with friends, lazy mornings in bed, apples as sustenance, cycling on pumped-up tyres, feeling proactive and that I'll achieve good things, time out for reading, my heart ring (still - voodoo), wearing a (faux) fur coat to Uni, having my hair washed, being upgraded to business class, family fun times, a very musical month.
How are you all coping out there? Let's make lists and make things happen.
