I'm out of reading love at the moment.
I haven't been inspired by any books for a couple of weeks, and don't know where to look next!
So I thought I'd ask: What's your favourite book(s) you've read in 2013?
I read A LOT while travelling (yay!)
My top five, in no particular order:
Snake Ropes, Jess Richards
I got lost in this curious and isolating world.
The Imperfectionists, Tom Rachman
Loved the building of characters, and the Rome setting.
People of the Book, Geraldine Brooks
Beautiful writing and captivating story.
Arcadia, Lauren Groff
Nostalgia of golden youth in this coming of age tale.
Suite Française, Irene Nemirovsky
All the more pertinent as I read it while living in France
Honorary mention:
Where'd you go, Bernadette, Maria Semple
A funny and sad story told in a cute, collaged way.
Please, help me out! I need to get out of this reading lethargy.

I do love some good book recommendations!
ReplyDeleteI'm quite lucky that I will read almost anything, but love a good biography most of all! It sux when you can't find something to really get your teeth into.
I've read so many this year, though, that I can't remember what I loved most!!! X
I'm glad we're now friends on Goodreads!
DeleteGood on you for having a reading-filled year.
You're a clever thing. I am STILL reading Let's Talk About Diabetes with Owls.
ReplyDeleteDavid Sedaris is so enjoyable though!
