Fromage Friday: Finally

A long time between calcium hits, huh?

In no particular order:

Sundays mean markets in Bordeaux. Which means cheese, really.

Feta salad in Porto over New Year's.

Goat's cheese parcels in Porto.

Showing off my hands-free Christmas gift (I know you're all jealous) and some fromage blanc in Madrid.

Amazing mozzarella tapas in Madrid.

Cheesey crêpe deliciousness in Bordeaux.

More market cheese.

I made some cheese last year. Didn't look as good as this.

Casual cheese-eating with friends on a Saturday night in Bordeaux.

Being hungover on a school day (me?!) calls for a brie baguette.

Wonderful ashed goat's salad.

Cheese and broccoli (homemade) pizza - this counts, right?

Chèvre and vegetable soup. So good.

Market stall in Périgueux.

The French know how to do novel chip flavours.

Any favourites here?

Fromage Friday (fail)

I have some cheeses that I've been eating to share (photos, not the fromage itself!) but no time to send it out to you all.

Hopefully be a better blogger soon... (Probably the stress of No Excuses November - where I blogged every day - has knocked me out a bit!)

Fromage Friday

So sorry to disappoint. This week's been a little quiet on the fromage front (but high on the vegetable count, hurrah!)

I've been a busy bee (but of course) and haven't had much time for leisurely lunches. Boo!
I did however inhale a cheesy salad for lunch before my train this afternoon and feasted on a whole cheese platter amongst friends this evening. Amazing chèvre!

Fromage Friday!

Oh yes, oh yes (oh oui?) it's that time of the week again, Fromage Friday! The day that I show you all the creamy, delicious saltiness that I've been snacking on. Hurrah.

Goat's cheese salads are a staple of my vegetarian diet here.

Apple and cheese toasted sandwich with homemade bread at Plume. Yum.

Cheese platter and wine at Bistrot du Fromager.

Maybe you've seen this one already? Goat's cheese and berry salad in Barcelona. Out of this world.

My friend sent me this via text. I like it so much.

Typical after dinner snacking: gherkins, mandarin, cheese. Also, wine.

Should I worry that I can't remember where this was?

So much tastiness! Until next time...

Pas de fromage?

Yep, blogging is a challenge when you're a whirlwind world traveller. However, no excuses!

I somehow missed the Fromage Friday this week as I flew from Barcelona to Bordeaux. It wasn't such an exciting week, cheese-speaking. Although I did find some Spanish cheese at my hotel buffet... I'll make it a super special next Friday though!

Fromage Friday

Are you just as cheese crazy as I am?! I thought so.

Here we go, the first post in a new series celebrating just how high my calcium levels are since coming to France. Seriously, sometimes I am force-fed chèvre.

I have dinner with my fellow English-teaching colleague most Wednesdays. On our first week she pulled out this amazing (Italian) blue.

I love that you can buy decent camembert for cheap from the supermarket.

And that you're given specific instructions on when to eat it to get the right depth of flavour for your palate!

So good.

Cheese is the perfect accompaniment to wine for a few drinks with friends on a Monday night.

This meal is my vegetarian go-to for restauranting in France: Salade de chèvre (goat's cheese salad, toast, assortment of crudités)

You'd better believe I bought that ashy one on the left. So creamy. Perfect for breakfast with crusty baguette (if I can tear myself away from the equally delicious garlic cheese spread).

My friend ordered the cheese plate at a bar the other night and this pitiful excuse came out. We had to laugh.

Salade de chèvre again! (and the amazing Rosie)

Warm goat's cheese and honey on the crustiest sliced bread. Oh my.

The cheese platter to rival all others. I was spoiled this night!

As you can see, my bones are clearly getting all the calcium they require. Unfortunately I think my thighs are also "benefiting" from this good-eating...

Until next Fromage Friday!
