Another apology
Dear friends,
I was hoping to post some photos this afternoon but it turns out I have an interview at Dior. WHAT IS HAPPENING WITH MY LIFE?
Good times.
Now, off to get dressed.
Till next time then,
Sequin Cat

Wednesday Wrap-up
I'm exhausted. Severe jet-lag. But as promised, here's my weekly recap:
I've been in New York for the last seven days. Briefly, my time has involved: picnics, beautiful gardens, strolls along 5th avenue, being photographed for Vogue, delicious brunches, lunches and dinners, cocktails, bagels, hanging in Williamsburg, being stung by a wasp, brunching with Bill Murray, texting the CEO of World Vision, viewing the city from the rooftops, seducing an amazing female surfer, sight-seeing and basically a whole lot of fun. Sorry that wasn't very cohesive; I didn't sleep on the plane.
Here is how I got home. NY to Paris: subway, subway, foot, bus, plane, plane, train, train, bus. Basically I want to die right now.
I promise I'll be uploading lots of photos (daily outfit!) soon but right now I just have to crawl into bed... 4pm....
Hope you've all had amazingly adventurous weeks! Apologies again for text only. Dullsville.

Wednesday Wrap-up (the not Wednesday edition)
Crazy crazy week.
- Quiet nights in turning into fun nights out with a Paris treasure hunt and cheap wine.
- Making contacts and money at work, and quitting my job! Feeling the weight lift off my shoulders and enjoying the breeze in the metro once more.
- Reading and writing.
- Taking myself on dates: the movies, museums
- Sunday night belated birthday Chinese feast.
- Shopping! Just a few little things.
And a little timeline for you all: On Saturday I finished work, on Sunday I rested, on Monday I went to Eurodisney and on Tuesday I caught a flight to....
New York! A spontaneous trip that just happens to coincide with New York Fashion Week.
When I get back to Paris (next Wednesday) I'll be sure to tell you all about it. For now, please excuse the lack of postings. Bisous!

Nouvelle bague
Bought this cutie at the pool/museum in Roubaix.
Don't be surprised by sporadic posting this week.... I'm away from Paris.... away from France....
Any guesses?

Daily Outfit: Indian Dinner
Last week I took my friends out for tea. We chowed down on Indian and drank a little wine. Later, I played DJ while they slept.

Shopping finds
I don't often go shopping. Perhaps this is why:
I had to take this snap sneakily as there was a woman next to me fingering this sack of a dress with interest. Yes, it's leather. Yes, it's hideous.

Wednesday Wrap-up
Another working week. Luckily I got the weekend off and headed an hour north by TGV to Lille for the giant fleamarket.
But I have a confession. I didn't buy a thing. Not for want of trying, I assure you! We pounded the pavements for hours yet came home empty-handed.
It was quite the adventure though. We didn't plan any accomodation, so sourced a spot for our tent when we got there. We were going to sleep in the backyard of an abandoned building, but upon finding out that the place swarms with gypsies that cut throats at night, we decided to pitch elsewhere. That elsewhere happened to be a parking lot. Oh yes. We were even provided with cardboard boxes to insulate us from the cold concrete. I am officially a hobo.
Lille itself was very beautiful and liveable. Reminded me a lot of Melbourne, with its trams, old houses and greeness.
Sunday morning we had breakfast in the local bakery after packing up the tent. After bidding farewell to tonton in his gourmet foodstuffs store we hopped on the tram to the local park to feed the ducks baguette, nap amongst flowers and drink red wine. Then it was back on the tram to the nearby town of Roubaix to visit a modern art museum housed in an old public bathhouse.
It was then time for a final browse through the markets, a quick cherry beer and the train home. Ramen for tea.
Since then I've been working (myself into a state). I'll be honest, things aren't going so great. So I've decided to take some time off/out and focus on the things I enjoy, as this year is supposed to be a working holiday.
Thanking you all for your patience lately. I'm exhausted when I come home from work and never have the time to devote to blogging. I'm hoping to strike a healthier work/life balance soon.
Things to look forward to:

Things to look forward to:
- Trip to Iceland/New York/Prague - I'm getting my planning hat on yet again
- Making new friends in the local orchestra (rehearsed with them for the first time tonight! Totally surreal following the conductor in French)
- Old friends being in town
- Filling my world with flowers
- Taking myself on movie dates
- Stopping and breathing

Wednesday Wrap-up
Petals! Photo light (ok, devoid) today because the camera cable isn't working its magic.
Bref, travail travail travail. (Briefly, work work work.)
Other things that've made up my week:
Bisous! A bientôt!
Bref, travail travail travail. (Briefly, work work work.)
Other things that've made up my week:
- shopping! I rarely do this so it was a special treat. I bought frivolous things.
- being cooked a lovely vegetarian dinner
- buying fresh flowers from a florist in Montmartre
- taking my friends out to dinner with tip money - delicious leftovers too!
- red wine in bed
- being bought pain au chocolat every morning
- bakeries open late during Ramadan
- receiving packages in the mail!
- buying lots of English-language magazines
- saying au revoir but not adieu to my darling girlfriend in early morning drizzle
- slow, sleepy bus ride home amongst grey skies
- making contacts with customers at work: Iceland connection! Contact at Dior!
Bisous! A bientôt!
